Fish Curry

  • 1/2 coconut grated (1 cup)
  • 1 tomato
  • Small piece of ginger
  • 1 string of curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp chilli powder or 3 dry red chilli
  • 1 small tamarind 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp methi seeds
    • Grind the above ingredients into a fine paste with half cup of water.
    • Heat a clay pot.
    • Add the grind paste and let it heat in a small flame.
    • Let it boil.

  • Fish 4 or 5 pcs (king or black pompfret or few prawns )
  • Few pcs of raw mango(optional)
  • 2 green chillies sliced
    • Add the fish or prawns into it.
    • Add the mango and the chillies into it.
    • Let it cook
    • Remove from the flame 

  • 3 small shallots chopped
  • few curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
    • Heat 2 tbsp oil, add chopped shallots into it and fry.
    • Add curry leaves 
    • Remove from the heat.
    • Add the tempered into the curry.
    • Close the lid and keep it aside for few minutes.

Moru Curry

  • 4 green chillies
  • 4 small onion
  • 1 tsp cumin jeera 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 cup curd
    • Grind the above ingredients to  a paste.
    • Add 1/4 cup  curd and grind again.  
    • Add remaining curd and 1/4 cup water .
    • Grind it once.
    • Pour the mix into a deep pan.
    • Keep stirring.
    • Allow the mix to just boil and switch off the flame.

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 4 dried red chillies
  • 4 small onions sliced.
  • few curry leaves
  • salt to taste
    • In a small pan heat oil.
    • Add mustard seeds, then fenugreek and red chillies.
    • Add sliced onion and fry until light brown.
    • Add curry leaves.
    • Add this into the curd mix.
    • Add salt to taste.
    • Keep it closed for few minutes before serving.

Muringa Leaves Curry


 2 cups of muringa leaves(Drumstick leaves)
    • Wash well by soaking in water for 2 or three times.
    • Strain it.

  • 1 cup coconut granted
  • 2 tbsp cooked rice( if you need to thick gravy) optional
  • 2 tbsp coriander  powder
  • 1 tbsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 or 3 small onion
  • 1 green chillie
  • 2 pods of garlic
    • Grind all the above ingredients.
    • To a fine paste.




  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
    • Heat oil.
    • Add the strained leaves and fry for few minutes.

    • Add the grind paste , 1/2 cup of water into the paste grinder and pour in the pot.
    • Add salt as needed.

    • Cook on slow flame until it is well boiled.

Egg Roast

  •  1 big chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 4 tbsp chilli powder
  • 1 cup water
    • Add the above ingredients to the cooker and pressure cook for one whistle.

  • 3 tbsp coconut oil 
  • Few curry leaves
    • Add oil and curry leaves to the gravy.
    • Cook until it thickness to a thick gravy.

  •  2 boiled eggs
  • salt to taste
    • Add the eggs and salt to the gravy.
    • Cook for few minutes.

Cherupayar Curry

  •  1 cup Cheru payar
    • Soak the cherupayar  for few hours.

  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 garlic cloves chopped
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
    • Wash the cheru payar and cook in the cooker with coconut oil, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cloves and green chillies chopped.
    • Add 2 cups of water into it and cook for 4 whistles of cooker.

  • 4 tbsp coconut at room temperature
  • 2 curry leaves strings
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 green chilly
    • Grind the above ingredients into a fine paste.
    • Add the coconut mix into the cooker. Add hot water if needed to dilute it little bit.

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 mustard seeds
  • 3 dry red chillies
  • few curry leaves 
  • 4 small onions chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
    • Heat oil. Then add mustard once it splutters add the curry leaves garlic, onion.
    • Saute it few minutes
    • Add this into the curry mix. 
    • Add salt to taste. Boil once.
    • Have with rice or puttu.

Channa Masala


  • Let us soak channa in water overnight or for a 5 to 6 hours.
    • 1 cup Channa/Chickpea

  • Make a paste of the following ingredients, grind well.
    • 2 tomatoes
    • 2 onions medium
    • 4 garlic
    • 1inch ginger
    • 3/4 tsp cumin seeds
    • 1/2 tsp gram masla
    • 1 cardamom
    • 3 cloves
    • 1 tbsp coriander powder
    • 1 tbsp chilli powder
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1/2 tsp kastori methi 

  • In a pressure cooker add the paste, channa,  pinch of baking soda, oil and salt.
    • 2 tbsp oil
    • pinch of baking soda
    • 2 tsp salt

  • Close the cooker and cook for ten minutes and turn  of the fire. Wait until the pressure cools down.

  • Once it cools, open the pressure cooker add garam masala and kastori methi.
    • 1 tsp garam masala
    • 1 tsp kastori methi

  • Heat oil  and add green chilies and few slits of ginger. Pour it into the curry and mix well.
    • 2 green chillies
    • 1or 2 thin slices of ginger
  • Finally, garnish  with coriander leave.
