Rosemary Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/2 flour( all purpose)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp fresh Rosemary chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • coarse salt (optional)

Method:


  1. In a deep bowl add warm water, yeast and sugar. Allow the mixture to set for 5-10 mins.
  2. Add the flour and salt and mix with a spatula.
  3. Add one tbsp of chopped rosemary into the mixture.
  4. Mix together with the spatula until smooth and the dough cleans from the sides of the bowl.
  5. Cover the dough and leave it to rise for 2 hours.
  6. Knead the dough and divide into 2 half.
  7. Let the dough rest about 5 to 10 minutes.
  8. Melt the butter and over the top of the loaves. 
  9. Sprinkle remaining rosemary.
  10. Let loaves rise again until doubled for 45 mints.
  11. Preheat the oven for 10 mts at 200°C.
  12. Bake for 20 mints until lightly browned.

Easy Garlic Focacci



Ingredients:


  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1/4 tsp crushed powder
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/4 tsp dry yeast
  • 1/4 tsp honey
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Method:
  1. In a cold skillet combine olive oil, garlic and crushed pepper.
  2. Place the pan over  a low heat and cook for 5 to 10 minutes before the garlic turns brown.
  3. Set aside.
  4. In a large bowl combine warm water, yeast and honey. Stir and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  5. Add 1 cup of flour and 1/4 cup of the oil mixture into it. 
  6. Stir until the flour has moistened. Leave it to sit for another 5 minutes.
  7. Stir in the remaining flour and salt into it.
  8. When the dough comes together, move into a floured surface and knead until smooth.
  9. Transfer the dough into large oiled bowl, cover with a damp towel and let rise for 2 hours.
  10. Preheat the oven for 10 minutes at 200°C.
  11. Use a little remaining oil to pour on the baking sheet.
  12. Then the dough to the baking sheet , press it down into the pan. Use your fingers to dimple the dough. Then drizzle the top with the remaining garlic oil mixture.
  13. Let the dough rise for 20 minutes until it puffs slightly.
  14. Bake until golden brown for 20-25 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean. 
  15. Cool baked focaccia bread on a wire rack.

Artisan Bread

Ingredients for No Knead Artisan Bread:

  • 1  and 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp dry yeast
  • 3 cups of bread flour or flour

  1. Add one and  half cup warm water in a deep bowl.
  2. Salt into it.
  3. Then sprinkle 3/4 tbsp yeast into it and let it set for 2 minutes.
  4. Add flour into it. 
  5. Using a spatula mix until it completely  comes together and blended.
  6. Cover with a plastic  wrap and let it rise  in room temperature for 2 hours.
  7. Line a cutting board with parchment paper and generously dust with flour.
  8. Move the dough onto the floured parchment paper.
  9. Sprinkle little flour on top.
  10. Preheat the oven at 200C for 10 minutes.
  11. U will need 2 rack . In the middle rack place the bread dough and cut three slices on top of the dough.
  12.  In the bottom rack place a water pan adding in 1 cup of hot water into it.
  13. Bake it for 20- to 30 minutes.
  14. Once done. Remove from the oven and let it cool before cutting it.
