Ariy Unda


  • 1 cup ponnai or matta rice
    • Wash the rice well.
    • Spread the rice into a small towel to dry.
    • Dry roast the rice in a pan until golden brown in a medium flame.
    • Remove from the heat and let it cool.

  • 10 pcs cashew
    • Dry roast them also.
    •  Grind the rice into fine powder.
    • Then the cashews into fine powder.
    • Mix in a bowl.

  • 6 tbsp jaggery
  • 6 tbsp grated coconut
    • Grind it for one or 2 pulse. (Do not not make it into a paste)
    • Mix into the dry powder.
    • Add salt to taste.
    • Mix well using your hand.
    • Take some of the mixture shape them into lime sized balls.

Muringa Leaves Curry


 2 cups of muringa leaves(Drumstick leaves)
    • Wash well by soaking in water for 2 or three times.
    • Strain it.

  • 1 cup coconut granted
  • 2 tbsp cooked rice( if you need to thick gravy) optional
  • 2 tbsp coriander  powder
  • 1 tbsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 or 3 small onion
  • 1 green chillie
  • 2 pods of garlic
    • Grind all the above ingredients.
    • To a fine paste.




  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
    • Heat oil.
    • Add the strained leaves and fry for few minutes.

    • Add the grind paste , 1/2 cup of water into the paste grinder and pour in the pot.
    • Add salt as needed.

    • Cook on slow flame until it is well boiled.

Oatmeal & Chocolate chips Cookies




  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp powdered cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
    • Remove 2 tbsp of flour and add the cocoa into it.
    • Sieve the flour, salt, baking soda, cocoa powder and cinnamon.
    • Whisk in a bowl.
    • Keep it aside.

  • 2 stick butter (226 gms)
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup  granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
    • In a large bowl or stand mixer  add the butter (@ room temperature) cut into small pieces.
    • Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar.
    • Add the vanilla essence and eggs.
    • Beat the them until creamed together for 2 to 3 minutes on a medium high speed.
    • Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
    • Mix on low speed until well combined.

  • 3 cups oats
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
    • Add the oats and chocolate chips.
    • Mix well.
    • Cover and keep in the fridge for 30 minutes.
    • Preheat the oven for 10 minutes at175C.
    • Line the baking sheet on a baking tray.
    • Using ice cream scoop lay the leaving little space between them.
    • Bake for 15 minutes or until a tooth pick comes out clean.
    • Remove from the oven  and allow the cookies to cool in the baking tray for few minutes.
    • Cookies stay fresh for a week.
