Crab Roast

 


  • Clean the crab well and keep aside. 
    • 1 kg crab
  • For the masala. Heat a pan.
  • Add ghee/oil, then add coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds,  pepper, fenugreek seeds, cloves and cinnamon and fry well.
    • 1 tbsp ghee/oil  
    • 1 tbsp coriander seeds
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • 1/4 tsp fennel seeds
    • 4 pepper corns
    • 1/4 tsp methi seeds
    • 1 small piece cinnamon

  • Then add garlic, ginger and dry red chillies(mangalore) and fry for few minutes.
    • 5 cloves of garlic
    • 1 inch of ginger cut into thin slices
    • 15 dry chillies

  • Once it is cooled , grind to a smooth paste with tamarind and turmeric.
    • 1 small lime size tamarind
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric

  • Heat oil/ghee in a pan, add garlic, small onion and curry leaves and fry for few minutes.
    • 5 tbsp oil/ghee
    • 5 cloves garlic chopped into small
    • 4 small onions chopped
    • few strings of curry leaves.

  • Now add the paste into it with water, roast until the oil bursts out.
    • 1/2 cup water

  • Add the crab with water and salt. Cook and then fry well.
