- Clean the crab well and keep aside.
- 1 kg crab
- For the masala. Heat a pan.
- Add ghee/oil, then add coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, pepper, fenugreek seeds, cloves and cinnamon and fry well.
- 1 tbsp ghee/oil
- 1 tbsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp fennel seeds
- 4 pepper corns
- 1/4 tsp methi seeds
- 1 small piece cinnamon
- Then add garlic, ginger and dry red chillies(mangalore) and fry for few minutes.
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 1 inch of ginger cut into thin slices
- 15 dry chillies
- Once it is cooled , grind to a smooth paste with tamarind and turmeric.
- 1 small lime size tamarind
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- Heat oil/ghee in a pan, add garlic, small onion and curry leaves and fry for few minutes.
- 5 tbsp oil/ghee
- 5 cloves garlic chopped into small
- 4 small onions chopped
- few strings of curry leaves.
- Now add the paste into it with water, roast until the oil bursts out.
- 1/2 cup water
- Add the crab with water and salt. Cook and then fry well.
