What I need to bake:
- 45 gms butter
- 60 gms sugar
- 1/2 baking soda
- 40 ml water
- 150 gms wheat flour
- 3/4 tsp ground cinnamom
- 1/2 tsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
How I mix:
- Cream butter until light and fluffy, then add sugar.
- Dissolve baking soda in water.
- Stir in dissolved soda one third or one quarter at a time.
- Fold in sifted dry ingredients with wooden spatula.
- Place dough in plastic bag and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Roll out dough into 3 mm thickness on floured surface. cut out with cutters.
- Make stars patters or any other pattern.
- Place on baking tray and bake @ 175 for 15 minutes.
For Icing:
- Sift icing sugar(1/2 cup) in a bowl.
- Add few drops of flavouring or colour if you like.
- Stir in water as required until smooth and the required consistency
- Decorate the way you want.
